I recently started getting into mixology, and while I’m still very much a beginner, one of my favorites is a classic margarita. She’s cute, she’s simple, and requires maybe 4 ingredients at most. Other than the tequila, practically all of the ingredients can be tweaked and substituted. I’d say a classic margarita is one of the simplest drinks to make when you’re starting out with mixology, or at the very least, wanting to make something fun for yourself and friends/family. I make them a ton for my boyfriend and have experimented with some fun variations on it, so keep reading to find a recipe of one of my favorites!
Pineapple Margarita
Jump to RecipeOkay, so for this first marg, I actually got inspired by a drink my mom ordered at Ocean Prime called Pineapple Picante. Although it isn’t a margarita, I was drawn to the pineapple-infused tequila aspect of it. So I went and made my own pineapple-infused tequila!
For those who haven’t yet done this, it’s super easy! I chopped up the pineapple into rectangular strips, put them in a mason jar, and filled up the jar with silver tequila. I then let it sit in the fridge for about 5-7 days. Of course, you can experiment with much bigger containers, but I wasn’t sure how this would come out as it was my first time doing it. However, anyone can do it and it’s practically impossible to mess up.
A quick note: If you don’t have simple syrup on you and you’ve never made it before, that’s also super easy to make! Just combine equal parts sugar and water; so for example, if you want to make one cup of simple syrup, add one cup of water and one cup of granulated sugar into a pot, then put over medium heat (not high heat, this will crystallize the sugar) and stir frequently until it starts to boil or until the sugar has completely dissolved. Take off the heat and pour it into a heat-proof container. This will last for about a month in the fridge.

Okay, so as you all may have gathered from the last blog post, I want to pull a tarot card for the collective at the end of each blog to see where our energy’s currently at, despite our different signs/transits/overall life situations. They may or may not resonate with you, so take what does, and leave the rest <3 Let’s get into it!
King of Bolts Reversed
The sign associated with bolts from this deck is fire, and we have a full moon in Leo coming up on the 5th of February! When the planet of emotions enters the all-dramatic sign of Leo (I’m a Leo moon so I’m allowed to say that) will we be reacting to situations with a bit more ~pizzazz~ than usual? Some might call it performative, or over the top, but maybe you’re due for a cry-sesh and movies with a tub of ice cream. After all, we’re still in a mercury retrograde shadow period, which hasn’t been so nice to us. Uranus in Taurus will be squaring both the sun in Aqua and moon in Leo – this is a very charged energy, and with the King of Bolts reversed, you’re being asked to consider weighing options before you make any hasty decisions. Take note of any extremist beliefs or ideals being forced onto you-whether through the internet or from someone in your personal life. This exalted Venus in Pisces squares Mars in Gemini around the same time. Basically, relationships of all sorts will be intensified. Are things as bad as they seem, or are our judgments being clouded? Don’t attempt to control people or situations out of fear. Embody yourself at your greatest potential, but not at the cost of others.
