Valentine’s Day 2023

It was always interesting to me how Valentine’s Day falls on Aquarius season. The water bearers have a rep of being emotionally detached, which isn’t all romantic. We could definitely shrug this special day off as purely capitalistic, but the more I studied astrology, the more I could see how this actually makes perfect sense. If you’ve ever seen an Aquarius in love, you’d see the stereotypes mentioned here simply aren’t true. They’ll move mountains for those they love, while keeping their distance from others not worth their time. If you’re blessed enough to be loved by one, you know that vip-treatment I’m talking about. Go hug that special Aqua in your life!

This year’s Cupid’s Day was super eventful. It was during the weekday, so the activities bled into the weekend. I woke up to the most picture-perfect scene straight out of a rom-com, set up by my love. He had so many gifts that were so well thought out and tailored to my specific tastes and interests, and I was so moved by it all. <3

Can you believe he’s never made a flower bouquet before this? You would have never guessed! Shout out to spirit for sending me someone so kind and caring. Some of my gifts included new tools for my bar, Celeste from Animal Crossing (my fave character), a silk pillowcase, cleanser, candles, a card, and some super cute rose wine glasses!

I was also given a whiskey-infusion DIY kit, which includes flavored wood chips, test tubes, and stainless steel whiskey cubes. Blog on that coming out soon!

We enjoyed some macarons and french toast that I made us, and surprised him with a canvas that I commissioned where we were inserted into his favorite anime, Naruto 🙂 We also got some flowers for my mom and overall had a super relaxing morning together, work day and all!

That Friday, I attended a Galentines day event hosted by my good friend Adela. She had the CUTEST, most beautiful decorations and even had some activities going for us girlies, such as decorating heart-shaped sunglasses and painting on tiny canvases. It looked like an event straight out of Pinterest, and I am so thankful to her for putting it together. The main pic of this blog is a cake from her party and doubled up as a birthday cake as well! She IS the Aquarius queen that I mentioned earlier. Love you girl!

During the weekend, my manz and I went grocery shopping because I was craving Italian and we wanted to cook together. We love going out for dinner, but there’s a level of intimacy when you’re cooking together instead, following recipes, and working together as a team to achieve a desired result (unless I’m baking-I make him sit and watch because I become a control freak when I bake.) Plus, I prefer homemade meals almost every time. He focused on the gnocchi and I made the tiramisu (not pictured because I forgot, but I did use the leftover coffee/Kahlua mixture to make a bomb espresso martini). I was super proud of how everything came out!

I am so lucky to be surrounded by such loving people who enjoy spending their time with me. I am eternally grateful for everyone shown/mentioned here (and all my babes that I hold close to my heart-you know who you are) because Valentine’s Day is not only all about romantic love, but also familial and platonic love as well. Community is so important to me, and although I express my appreciation as much as I can to loved ones, I personally love having a day where the focus is on this type of energy entirely! It’s so wholesome and absolutely needed. Now onto our tarot card of the week!

March is SO important because of all the transits taking place. It is going to be a new shift of energy almost entirely. Mercury and Saturn move into Pisces, there will be a full moon in Virgo coming up, and Venus will conjoin Jupiter AND Chiron. The masculine and fire energy of the King of Wands urges us to actualize our dreams that we’ve kept on the back burner. Living with intention is the move. Harness the energy of the upcoming full moon to release any emotional baggage or insecurities that are holding you back from living your dream life. With Saturn moving into mutable Pisces, be careful of your boundaries dissolving. There may be a heightened sense of intuition that might actually strengthen them, however, if you practice discernment. Seeking outside sources for opinions is not always bad, but learning to trust yourself more is a theme I can see coming up. Remember, you don’t always need to explain yourself.
